Every battery we sell can come back to us for recycling. Nobody else selling batteries online collects them; we do, three ways.
1. Free doorstep swap
On our own-van postcodes (WA1–WA5, WA13 [edit]) we deliver the new battery, fit it if you want, and take the old one away. Free. Choose “Free doorstep swap” at checkout.
2. Courier collection
Anywhere on the UK mainland, on orders of 100Ah and above. Add Old battery courier collection to your basket and we will send a return-ready box, terminal caps, a strap, a five-step card and a prepaid label with your new battery. Put the old one in, seal it, book the collection using the link on the card.
3. Drop it off
Bring the old battery to us in Thelwall and we refund the recycling deposit [£ amount] on the spot.
What we can and can’t take
- Lead-acid batteries of any size — leisure, car, van, motorcycle, mobility.
- The case must be undamaged and not leaking, with terminals capped for courier collection (the carrier’s conditions for used batteries, ADR special provision 598).
- We cannot collect lithium batteries by courier. Ring us and we will point you to the nearest approved drop-off.
Old lead-acid batteries are hazardous waste. Never put one in household rubbish or a skip.
